Choosing Bridesmaid’s Dresses for a Fall Wedding

Posted on

Feature1-150x150.jpgIn the Spring of this year, we launched our first set of Bridesmaid dresses. Dresses meant for the Budget Bride. The Bride who still wants her ladies to look elegant, beautiful, and timeless on her big day. Now, we just launched a whole new set of dresses, short and long for the bride to choose from, and we have some tips to select the right ones!

5 Things to Consider When Picking Bridesmaid Dresses

  1. Body Shape – Not all bridesmaids are going to have that perfect figure. In all reality, even if they have a great one, height and body shape makes a drastic difference. When selecting a dress, make sure they will flatter all party ladies. A-line and Empire waist dresses are always a great go-to, but if you want that fancy dress, just make sure your ladies are okay with it.
  2. Bridal Gown – Is your dress a lacy number? Odds are you wouldn’t want to put taffeta on all the girls if you don’t have any on your dress. Think of the photos and how the bridesmaid dresses will look next to your dream dress. Don’t pick something that will purposely make them look bad so they don’t upstage you. No one is looking at them that day (except for their spouses of course!).
  3. Unison or not – This in— it’s okay for your bridesmaids to not have matching dresses. It makes it fun for the girls and they can all find a dress that suits their needs. Check it out on Pinterest or in our Spring Bridesmaid post – as long as you have the same color, it looks fabulous. However, it’s okay if you want them to match. That’s up to the bride and her theme.
  4. What the Bride wants – After all, for brides and maids alike, there is one thing both should remember. It’s the bride’s day. Don’t feel guilty if you want a dress and not everyone agrees it’s the best. Listen of course to their feelings, but if you know what you want, do it. That’s the best advice you can get. Just be prepared for them to retaliate at their wedding. They could put you in a tutu for payback.
  5. Cost – Cost is probably one of the biggest factors. Your bridesmaids will not wear their dress again for the most part, so think of their budget. Talk to them and figure out where they are at with money and stay under their limit. If you find a dress over their limit, offer to cover the difference. Luckily though, you are going with Filly Flair Bridesmaid Dresses so you can find elegant, beautiful dresses under $100. In this day and age that’s always hard.

New Bridesmaid Release

Blush

Blush is a great color for a simple wedding. Be careful if you have pale skinned and pale haired girls in your wedding, it can wash them out if they don’t wear proper makeup.
