Upgrading Your Style

Hey Filly Flair Ladies! It's another gorgeous day in Sioux Falls and it got me thinking... what are some ways to upgrade your style without breaking the bank or staying within your comfort zone? I sat down this morning with a pen and paper (and of course my coffee) and started to jot down ways you could expand upon the style you're already rocking. Some of these ideas are a bit scary, and others are almost a no-brainer. Are you ready to expand on your style and revamp your look? Keep an open mind and let's dive into this thought-provoking blog post.

1. One of the first thoughts I considered when thinking about how to expand on my personal style was to ask my friends and family what they thought about how I dress. Sometimes you can get stuck wearing the same color, print, or style just because you really like that look! Your friends and family will notice things that you don't notice day-to-day so asking them to be candid and honest can really give you a good idea of how other people are perceiving your appearance. The people you see all day every day are the best ones to ask advice from because you can trust their opinion.

2. Secondly, I was thinking about how under-utilized fashion magazines are when it comes to inspiring your next best look. You can flip through any high-end fashion magazine, find a look you really love and head to your favorite shop to try and recreate it as close as possible. This honestly sounds extremely fun and is definitely going to be something my friends and I do very soon!

3. Upgrade your wardrobe by shopping off-season. During the fall and winter seasons, stock up on all of the great summer and spring sale items for cheap! Fashion moves quickly, but not so quickly that those pieces won't still be great the following year! You can get great fall and winter jackets for cheap once you see spring new arrivals hitting the sales floor and websites!

4. Experiment with different colors and styles that you would normally run from for your personal style. There are so many ways to style a piece of clothing that just because it's showcased in one way, doesn't mean you can't tailor it to your wardrobe. Make it your mission next time you shop to pick up a piece of clothing you would never wear, and then make it work for you.

Upgrading your wardrobe doesn't have to be a daunting task. It can be as simple as picking up one decent new piece of clothing a month. Whatever your budget is, make it work for your lifestyle! Before you know it, you'll have compiled some great new pieces to give your closet a much-needed upgrade!

Okay, Filly Flair readers! We appreciate you taking the time to check our blog today. We hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. If you have any blog topics you would like us to write about in the next blog, let us know in the comments below! Have a great week, ladies! XOXO
